At Advantech, we do not leave quality to chance. Throughout our extensive history of design and manufacturing, we have always built products that are based on a criterion that puts quality first. We have institutionalized both the ISO 9001- and ISO 14001- the standard certifications of quality assurance, since 1993. We insist on fulfilling the most up-to-date standards to ensure the quality of your product. The ISO 9001 emphasizes the process model and focuses on continual improvements and customer satisfaction. The ISO 14001 specifies the actual requirements for running an environmental management system, and it applies to those environmental aspects over which the organization has jurisdiction, and especially those over which it is expected to have significant influence.

However, both the ISO 9001 and 14001 standards do not adequately address certain special regulatory requirements, and so, were deemed unsuitable by the medical industry. Therefore, starting from June 2005, Advantech is applying the ISO 13485 certification – which is issued by the SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) – for the Design and Manufacture of Medical Grade Multimedia Panel Computers. The ISO 13485 certification proves advantageous and is essential, in many cases, for medical companies that export products to the global market.

Support for the ISO 13485 implementation in our organization is a great achievement for Advantech in its quest to demonstrate our ability to provide products that consistently meet the requirements of customers and applicable regulations.
