However, both standards do not adequately address regulatory requirements and were deemed as not suitable for the medical industry. Therefore, starting from June 2005, Advantech is ISO 13485- certified issued by the SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) – Design and Manufacture of Medical Grade Multimedia Panel Computers. This certification of a quality management system, specifically for medical devices, to ISO 9001/ISO 13485 proves advantageous, and in many cases essential, for medical companies which export their products to the global market.
