Chaney Ho is the general manager of Advantech Greater China, where he has made Advantech be recognized as the No.1 IPC brand in the region. He is also the vice president for Advantech's Channel & Marketing Development Organization (CMDO), which is responsible for business development in the emerging territories, including Russia, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Latin America. CMDO is also in charge of the development and implementation of Advantech's global channel sales and marketing strategies. Born in 1954, Chaney graduated from Tatung University and landed his first job with HP Taiwan. Chaney started off as an engineer, and worked his way up to become a manager. Before coming to Advantech, he worked as the general manager of Inalways Corporation. Under his management, Inalways successfully made its IPO in OTC in 1999, and was even awarded the National Small & Medium Enterprise Award by the government. Chaney later also won a personal recognition, Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Professional- General Manager Award, for his management performance with Inalways.
His experiences before Advantech earned him credits in strategizing sales and marketing plans, and building global brands. After leading Advantech Greater China, Chaney devised a homeland marketing strategy to deeply penetrate the Chinese market, which has achieved double-digit growth rate year after year. And now, the Chinese market (including China and Taiwan) accounts for almost 30% of Advantech's revenue, becoming the second biggest market after the American market. To promote Advantech's brand presence in China, Chaney not only setup offices in the first tier cities (eg. Beijing, Shanghai), but also developed sales and service centers in many of the second tier cities (eg. Chengdu, Nanjing) and across the country.
Chaney points out that future trends in human lifestyles are heading towards the "connected eWorld", in which all aspects of living will be linked via the Internet. Chaney emphasizes that to manage a business model that suits the connected eWorld well, one must focus on providing excellent services and keep on exploring new applications. Chaney once said, "Abiding to our customers' needs (customization) is the key to victory in this business, and these real application stories will the best tools for us to earn more sales!" |
