Jeff Chen is the Chief Technology Officer of Advantech. Right after he joined the company in 1993, Jeff successfully built the first SMD production line for Advantech, becoming the head of the Embedded PC (EPC) factory. In the following years, Jeff empowered the business group with advanced R&D and marketing capabilities.

Jeff graduated from National Chung Yuan University with a degree in electronic engineering. After his graduation, he started his career as one of the pioneering engineers in the color TV industry. Later on, his career took him overseas, during which time he completed a technology transfer project that focused on designing color workstations. He also gained much managerial experience after moving back to Taiwan, when he started to lead an electronic manufacturing center that employed more than 800 workers.

Jeff's success in leading ACG (Applied Computing Group) and Advantech's need to manage ever-growing product lines, led to his appointment as CTO of Advantech. Jeff used his substantial technical experience to set up design teams that share a common resource and knowledge pool. Under his leadership, he again brought in momentums to strengthen Advantech's R&D capabilities.

To further improve Advantech's technical design, Jeff knows learning form within is not enough: actively integrating resources from outside is the long-term solution. To Jeff, having a shared IP library and design system are the keys to providing electronic designers across different countries a creative platform to work on. This is one of the incentives that propels Advantech forward, also a goal that Jeff and his team are looking forward to reach ¨C an opportunity they know they can learn much from.
