Introduction

LVDS Extends Capabilities
Traditional LCD configurations are limited in range from 30 to 50 cm from the signal source.They are also limited in the quality and speed of the transmitted data. By employing LVDS, LCDs can now be placed up to 12 meters away from the computer. Shown below are the various ways the Advantech Embedded SBCs implement LVDS with combinations of onboard and external (add-on) transmitters and receivers. Advantech's transmitter-cable-receiver combinations exceed CE and FCC Class A EMI standards.The Advantech Embedded SBCs support 18-bit, 36-bit or 48-bit resolutions up to 1024 x 768 TFT LCDs. This is yet another way Advantech provides flexible solutions that offer implementation options to our customers during their system hardware updates.
